How a call works

Getting Help is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

You simply press the PAL Help Button and the PAL Call Box will immediately dial the 24hr. Call Center.

The PAL Call Box communicates with a professional Call Center Caregiver over a handsfree speakerphone to determine the nature of your emergency.

The Call Center Caregiver will then contact a neighbor and/or loved one to assist you. If the situation is serious, the Caregiver will immediately call emergency services. The Call Center Caregiver will always follow-up to assure help has arrived.

If you have trouble, just press your Help Button.

You'll be automatically connected to one of our fully-trained caregivers. You'll hear us through your Call Box.

We'll ask you how you are doing, assess the situation, and either contact one of your personal contacts and/or local emergency services.

If you can’t hear us or we don’t hear a response from you, we will contact your personal contacts and emergency services.

Either way, you’re covered. Help is on its way.

So, when you have The PAL, rest assured. Live your life with confidence. We’re looking out for you every step of the way.

A Call Tale
Here’s the story of a recent call we took from one of our subscribers.

Mr. Gutierrez pushes his The PAL Help Button.
Rhonda, The PAL Caregiver, her voice coming over the The PAL Call Unit:
Mr. Gutierrez, this is Rhonda from The PAL How can I help?
Mr. Gutierrez: I fell on my steps.
Rhonda: Are you hurt?
Mr. Gutierrez: I don’t know; I think I hit my head.
Rhonda: Do you need an ambulance?
Mr. Gutierrez: Oh, no. I’ll be fine. I just need help getting up, I’m sure.
Rhonda: I’ll call your nephew Carlos and send him over.
Rhonda: Carlos, this is Rhonda from The PAL Your uncle Joe has fallen on his steps and says he hit his head. Can you go check on him?
Carlos: Sure. I’ll head over there now. I have the key to his back door with me.
--
Carlos arrives, finds Uncle Joe on the floor and hits the button on the The PAL Call Unit.
Rhonda (over the The PAL Call Unit at Mr. Gutierrez’ house):
Carlos, how is your uncle?
Carlos: He’s unconscious. We need an ambulance!
Rhonda: I’ll call one right away. Will you please hit the button on the The PAL Call Unit when it arrives?
Carlos: You bet!
Rhonda contacts local EMS and waits for the signal from Carlos.
Carlos: The ambulance is here. I’ll lock up his house. He was making lunch – I turned off the stove.
Rhonda: Great. I’ll call Mr. Gutierrez’ son Mark.
--
Rhonda: Mark, this is Rhonda from The PAL
Mark: Hi, Rhonda, is my dad okay?
Rhonda: Your dad fell on his steps and hit his head. He is unconscious and is on his way to Central Memorial Hospital. Your cousin Carlos helped us get the ambulance there.
Mark: Oh, my gosh. I’m on my way to the hospital now. I’m glad Carlos was there to help. Thanks for calling!
